Gas Resources and Production in the Rocky Mountains

چکیده
Natural gas demand in the United States has been increasing for the last 15 years and is expected to increase substantially in the next 20 years (Energy Information Administration, 2003; National Petroleum Council, 1999). Demand is projected to increase in all sectors, especially electricity generation (Figure 1.1). In fact, 80 percent of projected electricity generation capacity additions through 2025 is expected to be fueled by natural gas (Energy Information Administration, 2003). Meeting this increasing demand will require an accompanying increase in supply. Imports, over 95 percent of which come from Canada, at present account for approximately 15 percent of the natural gas supply in the United States (Energy Information Administration, 2001a). Although imports are projected to increase, the fraction of total gas demand met

Investigating the Effects of Cadmium on Rumen Microbial Fermentation and Nutrient Digestibility Using Gas Production
Effects of different levels of cadmium (0.1, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256 mg/l of culture medium) were evaluated using gas production technique. In the glass vials used to measure gas production 30 mg of buffered rumen fluid (2:1 ratio of rumen fluid: buffer) poured in glass and cultured at 38.6 temperature. Volume and pressure of produced gas were measured with syringes and digital pressur...

In order to study of ecological and phenological traits of Ferulago angulata asan important medicinal plant, this research was conducted in Hezar Mountains andBondareh Henza in Kerman province, Iran. Random samples of this plant were taken andtheir vegetation habitat conditions and their growth characteristics including height ofcollar leaves, height of flower stem, flower stem number and forag...
متن کاملIdentification and Evaluation of Unconventional Hydrocarbon Reserves: Examples from Zagros and Central Iran Basins
It is notable that over the past decade, proven reserves of natural gas have dramatically increased as higher prices and advances in technology have turned previously unrecoverable resources into major sources of domestic production. Moreover, the decline in crude oil reserves has significantly slowed over the past decade. Therefore, there would be an end to the conventional hydrocarbon resourc...
متن کاملComment on "Methane emissions from process equipment at natural gas production sites in the United States: pneumatic controllers".
Emissions from 377 gas actuated (pneumatic) controllers were measured at natural gas production sites and a small number of oil production sites, throughout the United States. A small subset of the devices (19%), with whole gas emission rates in excess of 6 standard cubic feet per hour (scf/h), accounted for 95% of emissions. More than half of the controllers recorded emissions of 0.001 scf/h o...
